About EmpowerOne Marriage
EmpowerOne Marriage program is a comprehensive 6-month pre-marriage integrated training & coching experience designed specifically for young Muslim adults (ages 18-24) to prepare for a fulfilling, Islamically-grounded marriage.
By addressing emotional, spiritual, and practical aspects of marriage readiness, participants will leave with clarity, confidence, and the tools to navigate the marriage process based on the Sunnah of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The program comes loaded with tons of unique coaching information, from how to understand one-self to understanding preferences in a future spouse, to navigating real-life challenges in the pre-marriage process up to the Nikah and wedding, it also includes Amu Ayman's Love, Purpose & Integrity Workshop, focusing on aligning life purpose with marital success.
Participants who complete the program successfully are also invited to a one day retreat upon completion of the program.

Program Content
Month 1: Foundations of Marriage in Islam
Topics: The significance of marriage in Islam, the concept of family, its relationship to self and community, Quranic verses and Hadith on marriage, rights and obligations of spouses, marriage contracts and agreements, including dowry.
Activities: Case study on Islamic marriage contracts, workshop on rights, obligations, and negotiating agreements, written exam.
Month 2: Self-Discovery and the Marriage Process
Topics: Self-awareness and readiness for marriage, the Interest Phase and Initial Connection Phase, interviewing and proposals, practical tips for meeting and learning about a spouse and their family, ILIA's No Non-Sense Personalized Harmony Tool for assessing compatibility. Best practices to find the match of your dreams. Failures of matching sites. Organic relationship building.
Activities: Personalized coaching on interview strategies and proposals, guided role-plays for initial meetings with prospective spouses.
Month 3: Engagement Phase and Compatibility
Topics: Navigating the Engagement Phase, ILIA's 4R Framework (Right Person, Right Time, Right Reason, Right Compatibility), effective communication during engagement, building trust and managing expectations.
Activities: Group discussion applying the 4R Framework to real-life scenarios, conflict management exercises for engaged couples.
Month 4: Marriage Dynamics and Intimacy
Topics: Sex in Islam: Physical and emotional aspects, building emotional intimacy and trust, common marriage breakers and how to avoid them, asking intimate details appropriately and respectfully.
Activities: Expert-led workshop on Islamic guidance on intimacy, role-playing scenarios to build trust and set boundaries.
Month 5: Financial and Family Dynamics
Topics: Financial literacy for couples: Budgeting and joint planning, family roles and expectations in marriage, balancing cultural traditions with Islamic principles, practical strategies for handling family dynamics.
Activities: Hands-on budgeting session, group discussion on managing parents, siblings, in-laws, and extended families.
Month 6: Building a Resilient, Long-Term Partnership
Topics: Sustaining love, purpose, and integrity in marriage, shared goal setting and vision planning, conflict resolution strategies for long-term harmony, preparing for challenges in the early years of marriage, marriage and wedding arrangements.
Activities: Vision board activity for shared life goals, concluding reflection and certificate distribution, personalized marriage contracts.

Fee Structure
Total Cost: Early birds $1,675 per participant, inclusive of materials, group and 1/1 coaching, workshop access, personalized contracts, toolkit, and practice sessions, if register before 2/15/25. Regular fees $2450.

Ayman Nassar, Chief, Research, Academics & Programs
Founder of Islamic Leadership Institute of America (ILIA), with over 25 years of experience in enterprise architecture, enterprise and individual transformation and youth development. Over the past 20 years he has coached, taught and counseled hundreds of youth and young professionals and has been a certified mentor and coach with Big Brother Big Sister, Lutheran Social Services, Dar Al-Taqwa, Prince George’s Community College Asian, Latino, African, Native American (ALANA), New Beginnings Youth Center, Howard County Detention Center and ILIA. Ayman is a member of the Howard County Reentry Council and the Howard County Ethnic Diversity Round Table. He holds two Master degrees in electrical engineering, engineering management and systems engineering and holds certifications in half a dozen leadership areas. He has been trained in cultural competence, youth development, reentry, psychology, curriculum development and has devised over 200+ courses and programs for youth and adults. He was faculty at University of California, Prince George’s Community College, Strayer University and Howard Community College. He founded Youth Crisis Line, and provided stabilization services to hundreds of young adults.
Dr. Esraa Badr, Positive Youth Development Researcher, MD
A positive youth development researcher at Islamic Leadership institute of America. She holds a MBBCh degree from Alexandria Faculty of Medicine, Egypt with focused training in adult and child neuropsychiatry specialties combined with a neurology training in Selcuk University, Turkey. Currently she is a pediatrician at the Ministry of Health and Population, Egypt and a participant in Clinical Research Scholars Training program by Harvard Medical School. She is focused on mental health issues affecting youth as part of her postgraduate studies in the High Institute of Public Health, Egypt. Esraa is also a member of the Mental Health Research Network in Egypt and has participated in several research projects on different mental health issues. She is a writer and health promoter about mental health affairs with special interest in parenting issues. Esraa also participated in many civil work projects targeting the public awareness about mental health affairs.
